Winter Snow Ball

On Saturday 2nd November we held our 4th annual black-tie ball at Ryde Castle Hotel.

130 guests attended the winter themed event, where they enjoyed a sparkling drinks reception followed by a two-course meal and charity raffle. They were treated to a first class performance from tribute artist Michael Appleton with his ‘Michael Bublé Experience’, as he performed the Canadian crooners well known hits and festive favourites through dinner, followed by local bands ‘Switch’ who have attended the charity ball each year, and ‘The Outfit’ filling the dance floor until the early hours!

Finishing Touches themed the evening with decorations of white twig trees and sparkling lights and finished the tables off with a dusting of snow, and guests had the opportunity of a keepsake from the evening with professional photos taken by Laura Holme and the Island Photo Centre!

The frosty themed event was generously sponsored by Novum Law, who are keen supporters of the charity and Barclays Premier Banking who attended this event for the first time this year, although have already pledged their support for 2020. The event raised over £4000!

We are continually overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters and local businesses who sponsor our events and without them, these events simply wouldn’t happen, so thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success.

We were also delighted to be joined by Consultant Neuro-Surgeon and Trustee of Smile4Wessex, Mr Paul Grundy, to accept a cheque for £7000 on behalf of the charity. As well as supporting Island families, we also continue to support the work of The Wessex Neurological Centre, as this is where the majority of Island families will undergo treatment following this diagnosis and continues to be one of the best Neurological Centres in the UK. We have now donated £23,000 to the unit over the last four years.
